| Payment Arrangements Policy Change

As of November 1, 2024, Newport Utilities will no longer be allowing unlimited Payment Arrangements for our customers. Instead, customers will be allowed one arrangement per rolling 12-month period (ex: If an arrangement is made in November 2024, you will be unable to set up another arrangement until November 2025).

Until now, we have allowed an unlimited number of arrangements to be made. In fiscal year 2024, our Customer Service team set up a total of 14,764 Payment Arrangements. With this new cap on Payment Arrangements, your wait time will decrease and allow us to better serve our ratepayers. We understand that this will be an uncomfortable switch for some of our customers, and we will do everything we can to help you during this process.

Here is a list of our current Payment Options to take advantage of:

• Auto-Pay (Automatic, safe-and-secure Bank Draft on your bill’s due date)

• Prepay (Add funds to your Prepay Account as you’re able, whenever you choose, to count toward your monthly bill)

• Variable Budget Billing (monthly bill amount will be determined by a calculation of your current month & the prior 11 months actual consumption divided by 12 months to give an average monthly bill amount)

• Project Help (temporary assistance program for customers who have special needs & circumstances)
